Pitch #CrushTape Campaign
As the digital producer for Pitch, I ran the podcast’s social media and worked to generate a conversation on a different theme each week. For Valentines Day, I asked followers on Facebook and Twitter to use the hashtag #crushtape and name a song that they would put on a mix for their current crush. I chose this prompt in particular because I knew it would be more inclusive—and probably yield more imaginative results—than a prompt aimed specifically at Valentines Day. Not everyone has a valentine. But almost everybody has had a crush.
To promote the campaign I created the #crushtape visual (above) and retweeted our followers’ suggestions throughout the week. In total we received 80 song suggestions. I whittled that list down to 16 songs for the official mix, which I made using 8Tracks. I also put together all of the suggestions into a longer playlist on Spotify for more shareable content.
